About This Piece
Paying Homage to Tree Structures
In this Art print from nature series, I aim to honor the intricate beauty of trees' natural structures. Specifically, their patterns and holes. Moreover, the lush forest that envelops my house serves as an endless wellspring of inspiration.
Consequently, I crafted meticulously this particular image, with title "Structures from Nature," within the confines of my studio in Malexander. Furthermore, equipped with a state-of-the-art graphic press, I am able to bring my vision to life on paper.
The art of printing from nature is a structure in black and white
I printed run of 30 copies; consequently, each piece is on exquisite fine paper. Sourced from the renowned Italian company, Fabriano.
As a graphic designer, I divide my creative process into two distinct stages: conceptualisation and printing. During the initial phase, I rely on my intuition to explore various expressions, forms, and compositions. With a keen eye and a sharp chisel blade, I meticulously carve these elements into a matrix for The Art Printing from Nature 5.
Moreover, the pursuit of the perfect form is an ongoing journey, requiring numerous iterations and proofs before achieving the desired outcome in form of a kind of printed drawing.
Only after the final print is produced, then do I make any necessary adjustments to the matrix.
In the second stage, I transition into the role of a printmaker, skilfully bringing my artistic vision to fruition.
Ultimately, by combining my expertise as a graphic designer and printmaker, I strive to create captivating linocut pieces that celebrate the awe-inspiring beauty of nature's structures.
