About This Piece

Two in One symbolizes the concept of balancing two parts to become whole; a pen and drawing together as one.

The merging of these two components creates an opportunity for us to explore our emotions and discover ourselves. Ultimately striving for self-fulfilment.

And so they are no longer two, but one body

Two in one - this slogan is an expression of the desire for unity. Man does not want to be alone. He wants to meet another person and, in a relationship with him. Feel a sense of fulfilment, of completing himself.

We know that we are imperfect beings. We seek to complete ourselves with the hope of experiencing fullness.

The fullness of what? The general answer is life.

And yet life is long (although it seems short, especially to older people), full of events, moments and turns. Is it possible to live it with a sense of fullness?

I dare say not. That moments of fullness happen not often to us.

We are more likely to experience them when we share our lives with others. That togetherness can be real as something ultimate, as a lifelong decision.

In the Bible, there are these words in Genesis: "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."

One flesh is a slogan for me to search for form in my drawing.
How to show two in one. They are fused together as if knit together. However, their bodies are different. They deviate from each other. As if each wanted to indicate that there are directions in which they move alone, without the other. This is a necessary condition, a kind of price,  in order to maintain their identity in this state of two in one.
