About This Piece

Painting the scream is an expressionist representation of an individual. Encompassed by overwhelming feelings of sadness, dilemma, doubt and even despair. This monotype image is my personal the scream description of the scream.

It captures the essence of expressionism by vividly portraying an individual consumed by an overwhelming surge of emotions. Encompassing sadness, dilemma, doubt, and even despair. But what triggers such intense feelings?

Regrettably, there are moments in life when sadness or despair become the only plausible reactions. These emotions, however, do not offer solutions to the problems that instigated them, nor do they eliminate the root causes.

Sometimes, these causes lie beyond our control, presenting themselves as colossal phenomena that we are powerless to halt. Or so we believe. In such instances, all that remains is to release a scream. Whether it be a resounding cry or a silent plea. In the painting, the woman shields her face with her hands. As if attempting to shield herself from the source of her terror.

Her eyes remain concealed, likely shut tightly, as her hands press firmly against her face. Desperately, her mouth emits a scream, defying the hands that attempt to stifle it.

There are countless reasons to scream!

Artistic expression or personal turmoil

The world is rife with injustice and suffering. Let us raise our voices, refusing to ignore to the malevolence that permeates our existence. The scream painter – Edward Munch, is  famous because of his painting. Some call it "simple scream painting munch", or "scream painting Edvard Munch".

It is part of permanent exhibition in National Museum in Oslo. A museum dedicated to the artist's work has recently found a new home to showcase all of Munch's masterpieces.

Among them, "The Scream" stands out despite its small size, captivating the attention of visitors. In this iconic painting, Munch captured a moment he encountered while walking along the road with two friends.

Suddenly the sky turned into an intense red hue, and the artist sensed a scream passing through nature. Overwhelmed with emotion, he stood there trembling with anxiety, ultimately immortalising this powerful experience on canvas creating the screaming man painting.

Price of the Scream painting set a new record as the most expensive piece of art ever sold on auction, sold for $120 million at Sotheby's Auction House.

This is news from 2012. As the time is going, new records by another art pieces are set. But price of the Scream painting will be remembered.

The scream painting stolen

The question arises: why has this modest painting achieved such widespread acclaim? So intensive that it has been stolen from the museum for 30 years ago.

Just like Leonardo da Vinci s Mona Lisa, the size of the artwork is not the determining factor. Munch's cry resonates with viewers on a deeply human level, it is a yelling painting about man, and it could be the cry of any one of us.

I join him with my screaming woman painting containing the scream description and let her scream together with Munch's the shriek painting.
